Having successfully completed rigorous examinations on the path toward specialist orthopaedic training, Dr. Naysmith is uniquely positioned to manage acute orthopaedic injuries, offer advanced orthobiologic therapies (PRP), and facilitate rapid, direct referrals to Cape Town’s leading surgeons when operative intervention is required.

A Foundation in High-Stakes Medicine

True bespoke care requires a clinician who is unfazed by acute medical scenarios. Before focusing entirely on orthopaedics, Dr. Naysmith built his clinical foundation on the front lines of South Africa’s most demanding medical environments. Beginning his career as an Intermediate Life Support Paramedic in Durban, a profound passion for acute care drove his transition into medicine. His pursuit of clinical excellence led him to Johannesburg, where he honed his skills within one of the country’s busiest tertiary trauma surgery and Intensive Care Units (ICU).

Returning home to the Western Cape, he continued to manage complex, high-acuity cases across high-volume emergency departments. This extensive background in acute physiological distress, trauma resuscitation, and critical care equips him with a profound ability to remain calm under pressure. Holding advanced certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS Plus), patients are assured they are in highly capable hands.
